In addition to awards within the competition, we also offer recognition in other forms: short films are given the attention they deserve across our various programme sections. In cooperation with Arbeiterkammer Wien, the Current Comments address both individual fates and precarious living conditions as well as the global political situation including programs about oil and forms of resistance. The program at the MuseumsQuartier is also given a specific focus each day: Friday May 29 is for example Animation Day with highlight programs at the Milieukino and open air. Saturday May 30 is dedicated especially to the youngest audiences in cooperation with the MQ KinderKulturParcours and the ZOOM Children’s Museum animation studio. On Sunday May 31 queer cinema in particular will be shown following a program on Wednesday May 27 organized together with the research project Queer Cinema Austria 1906–2026.
