Tree Trophy: Catch ‘em if you can

Tree Trophy Game is an interactive geocaching-style game that makes the film trees discoverable via a digital map. On-site, players stream the award-winning short film on their smartphone in the immediate surroundings of the tree, and then complete a quiz about the film. The points they earn can later be redeemed for prizes from various partner organizations.

Trophy Trees

Since 2023, VIENNA SHORTS no longer presents its award winners with trophies, but instead dedicates freshly planted trees in Vienna to them. Via a QR code on the attached plaque, the respective short film can be streamed on a smartphone in close proximity to the tree. This creates a film and tree walk through the city over the years.

In cooperation with the Municipal Department Parks and Gardens (MA 42) and the City’s Forestry Office (MA 49), supported by the Vienna Film Commission (VFC).
