YOUTH JURY
Youth JURY ÖW Austrian Competition
The Youth Jury is one of our flagship projects in the field of film education and will be held for the twelfth time in 2025. The aim is to actively promote skills in dealing with the medium of film and to inspire enthusiasm for going to the cinema.
In the weeks leading up to the festival, the young jurors are prepared by educators in a workshop format. Together, they watch films from the Austrian Competition, discuss and analyze them, and ultimately reach a decision. At the festival, they personally present their verdict to the public and award a prize of €1,500 for the best Austrian film.
The Youth Jury has been implemented for many years in cooperation with Jugend am Werk. In 2025, the jury will consist of fourteen apprentices training to become goldsmiths and silversmiths from the Moderne Berufsausbildung training program of Jugend am Werk Bildungs:Raum GmbH.
