VR the World – Virtual Reality & 360° Film Competition

VR the World is looking for compelling films that explore the possibilities of virtual reality in ways which challenge our most basic perceptions and ideas about visual language, storytelling, participation and voyeurism. There are no limitations in relation to genre, what we are interested in are pieces under 30 minutes that give us the opportunity to unlearn our preset mode of gazing, engaging and feeling. Instead of replicating tropes of traditional cinema, the films should use the potential of virtual reality to add a new layer of understanding of the subject approached, otherwise inaccessible to us. We understand immersion not as just high fidelity CGI imaging, but as a mental process triggered within each viewer.
