YOUTH JURY

YOUTH JURY

The Youth Jury is one of our flagship projects in film education and will be held for the ninth time in 2022. The aim is to actively promote skills in dealing with the medium of film and to whet people's appetites for going to the cinema.

The young jurors are already prepared in the weeks before the festival by film educators in the context of a workshop. Together they view films from the Austrian competition, discuss and analyze the films and finally come to a decision. At the festival, they present them in person to an audience and award a prize for the best Austrian film worth 1,500 euros.

For many years now, the Youth Jury has been implemented in cooperation with Jugend am Werk. In 2021, five apprentices for clothing design from the training company Moderne Berufsausbildung formed the young jury. They awarded Life on the Horn by Mo Harawe.
