Tying in with the overarching program focus, the 2022 industry program will center on film archives and archival material with a trio of practical and case study sessions aimed at early-career filmmakers, producers, programmers and general audiences.

We will explore the practicalities of accessing and navigating archive collections, questions around rights and ethics in repurposing archive materials, the potentials and precarities of programming and exhibiting archive film, and creative uses of archive in filmmaking. The archive focus will be accompanied by opportunities for upcoming filmmakers to meet industry representatives and spotlights on filmmakers in this year’s festival program. (Sanne Jehoul)

The industry program of Vienna Shorts is supported by VdFS Collecting Society of Audiovisual Authors and Actors, VAM Verwertungsgesellschaft für audiovisuelle Medien, Vienna Film Commission and Creative Europe Desk Austria MEDIA.
