After he graduated from school Michael Schwarz worked at numerous film and television productions, among others with Bavaria Film, the ZDF series Siska and with Neue Münchner Fernsehproduktion as script supervisor and assistant director. From 2002 to 2007, he studied film and theatre studies in Mainz and worked as a freelance director and assistant director. 2007 he began to study at the film class of the Academy of Fine Arts in Mainz and the same year he founded nachtschwärmerfilm with Alexander Griesser. After getting his diploma in 2011 Michael Schwarz becomes master apprentice of Prof. Dr. Harald Schleicher (Academy of Fine Arts in Mainz, film class) and carries on working as a freelance director and assistant director.
