Jan Soldat began his studies in Film and TV Direction at the Konrad Wolf Hochschule für Film und Fernsehen in Potsdam-Babelsberg. Since 2006 he has produced several short films at the Chemnitzer Filmwerkstatt.

It is a delicate and controversial topic that Jan Soldat approaches in his sensitive documentary: the love between a human and an animal, the emotional and also sexual attachment, the dependence that results from it. This is about wanting to be loved, not wanting to be alone. There is no room here for judgement, only for listening – even if for some this surely won’t be as easy all that.
