Joanna Polak
* 1978 in Lublin (Poland).
Joanna Polak is a graduate of the State High School of Arts in Lublin. She studied at the Department of Multimedia Communication at the Academy of Fine Arts in Poznań. In 2003 she defended her MA diploma. Her doctoral research about ”Digital cut-out technique in animation” (doctoral procedure opened in March 2007) focuses on an observation of viewers’ therapeutic reactions to animated picture, including simultaneous displays and subcortical stimulation. She works in the fields of animated film, television and photography and is specialized in animated film direction.
Joanna Polak was VIS Artist-in-Residence 2009.
