The Reason I Collect

UK 2008, 3 min, DigiBeta
Director/Producer/Cinematographer/Editing: Emma Curtis | Sound: Bennet Maples, Emma Curtis | Grading: Craig Chaplin
Scratches and damages are a sign of vitality, as if, along with acquiring objects, one also collected people, memories and stories. Resulting from an installation about the artist Paul Escott, this animation by Emma Curtis is more than an illustrated interview about the collector’s passion: it is an impressive dialogue of sound and images.
