Social Networks – The Revival of a Utopia
Social networks have given the internet’s community-utopia new energy. Already during the production stage, film makers gather an audience within social networks and let these have a share in the creative process. Some film projects are collaboratively produced and financed (for instance via Crowdfunding). In Machinimas the underlying technology of computer games is co-opted for filmic experiments. And the first films that take a humorous look at the popularity of social networks have also been made already. Curated and presented by Dr. Karin Wehn.
