Molodist International Film Festival

 

Mission and program
Molodist (translates as “youth” in Ukrainian) is a specialized international film festival aimed to support the cinema of young directors. Competition program comprises student films, debut professional shorts and full-length feature films.
Mission of the festival is to discover new names and achievements in world сinematography. As it happened once with Tom Tykwer and Francois Ozon and many other starry directors, who took their first prizes at Molodist.
History and status
Started 40 years ago as a small screening of works shot by students of Kyiv State Institute of Theatrical Arts, which presented only 33 movies. Now it is an international festival accredited by FIAPF, known by professionals all over the world. Annually 350 films from more than 40 countries during 9 days are screened here.
Infrastructure
Molodist Talent Workshop - is a range of workshops, conducted by important cinema figures. The project started in cooperation with Berlinale Talent Campus.
During the last years the Talent Workshop has been visited by Vadim Perelman, Jerzy Hoffman, Jos Stelling.
For a festival period Molodist has it’s own “media-holding”, which consist of own internet television and a daily newspaper Molodist.TXT made both by young journalists and famous cinema critics.
