Ever since Andreas Steinkogler made the VIS-opening at the Gartenbaukino a memorable event with his DJ/VJ-set two years ago and a few days later provided a radio play on the European Football Championship 2008 with suitable images, the festival feels great gratitude toward this visualist, DJ and filmmaker. A “Work Exhibition” with six examples of his work between the poles of music, video and visual art now offers an insight into the artist’s multifaceted work. Steinkogler has been a member of the VJ-crew Eye-Con since 2004 and worked for Pendulum, LCD Soundsystem and Alex Gopher, among others. Currently he is working on a documentary about the machinations of the music industry.
