Maike Mia Höhne (D)

… studied Visual Communication in Havana and at the Academy of Fine Arts (HfbK) in Hamburg and has worked on films in Buenos Aires and Brussels. Her short films are distributed by Arsenal – Institute for Film and Video Art (Berlin) and the Hamburg Short Film Agency. She has been a curator of the Berlinale Shorts at the Filmfestspiele Berlin since 2007 and is currently preparing a photobook on the difference in gaze, as well as working on a short and a feature film.

 

 

Benny Nemerofsky Ramsay (CDN)

… is an artist, diarist and aspiring bon-vivant. Since 2000 his work has combined songs, performances and lyrics as ways of exploring the singing voice, as well as the untranslatabilty of emotions into language and the changes in emotional expressions as soon as these are mediated by technology and popular culture. Nemerofsky Ramsay’s video works were shown in galleries and at festivals in Canade, Europe and East Asia and have received numerous awards.

 

 

Miranda Pennell (UK)

... studied contemporary dance in New York and Amsterdam and consequently turned her attention to choreographical ideas in films and videos. In her work she deals with aspects of performance in day to day situations. Her films have been shown in cinemas and on TV, as well as in galleries and have won numerous awards (e.g. in Geneva, Ann Arbour, Cork). Following several solo exhibitions and retrospectives, VIS is dedicating a tribute to her this year in cooperation with sixpackfilm.
