Norman McLaren war ein Animator und Filmregisseur, der bekannt ist für seine revolutionäre Arbeit in den Bereichen Animationsfilm, visuelle Musik, abstrakter Film, Pixilation und grafischer Ton. 1952 gewann er einen Oscar für den besten Dokumentarfilm für Neighbours. Norman McLaren arbeitete für das National Film Board of Canada (NFB).
